well we have gators pretty much everywhere in fl. but as you get into the florida keys-all the water is salt water, and while gators have been found in salt water-they don't usually stay there long-just go to feed a little if necessary. I don't think they can stay in salt water indefinitely-like some crocs can. I lived in Key West, and never saw a gator there or in the keys at all. not impossible but unlikely-but all the way to Miami they are everywhere.
