There is no simple fix to this. You'll have to sand the area until the natural wood is visible, then you will have to find the closest color match to the color stain on the rest of the floor and then seal it with polyurathane. Unfortunately, the repair will stand out of your floor is older and the poly has dulled down over time due to foot traffic and cleaning. Best suggestion, get a rug to hide the spot.
